  • System Architecture: Define, maintain, and review system and subsystem architecture, including interfaces, functional decomposition, and requirements allocation across the system.
  • Hazard & Safety Analysis: Perform hazard analysis, risk assessment, and failure analysis (, , fault tree analysis where applicable), and define the safety concepts, safety functions, and fault reaction strategies that follow from it.
  • Certification Work Products: Develop and maintain the safety and systems engineering work products required for certification, including the safety plan, verification and validation plan, and system architecture documentation.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Work across hardware, software, mechanical, and test teams to keep the system coherent, safety-compliant, and fully covered by traceable requirements.

Skills

  • Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Systems & Safety Experience: Experience applying systems engineering and functional safety practices to complex electromechanical systems.
  • Failure Analysis Techniques: Hands-on experience conducting FMEA, FMEDA, or fault tree analysis to identify and assess system hazards.
  • Safety Standards: Solid understanding of and robot safety standards, including ISO 10218, ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 60204, IEC 61800, and IEC 61010.
