UK Based | Regular UK Travel + Some International Travel£50,000 - £65,000 + Excellent Benefits
The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Machinery Safety Engineer to join a leading organisation specialising in machinery safety and compliance.This varied role combines hands-on engineering expertise with technical compliance activities, offering the chance to work with a wide range of machinery across multiple manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in machinery safety inspections, CE/UKCA marking activities, technical file reviews, customer support, and machinery safety training.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct machinery safety inspections across a variety of industrial environments.
  • Provide technical guidance on safe machine design and machinery safety requirements.
  • Support CE and UKCA marking compliance activities.
  • Draft and review technical files and compliance documentation.
  • Deliver machinery safety training to customers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in accreditation and Approved Body compliance processes.
  • Build strong relationships with customers through professional technical support.
About You
We are looking for an engineer with a genuine enthusiasm for machinery and manufacturing and a strong understanding of machinery safety principles.
Essential Requirements
  • Broad engineering experience with machinery used in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with hazardous and complex machinery across a range of sectors.
  • Hands-on experience in machinery design, development, maintenance, or engineering management.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (electrical engineering knowledge would be advantageous).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply first-principles thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical standards, regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Ability to work impartially and professionally when assessing compliance.
Desirable
  • Experience in technical compliance.
  • Knowledge of and UKCA Marking requirements.
  • Previous involvement in safety assessments, certification, or conformity assessment activities.
