Salary range: £60,000 per annum - £80,000 depending on skills and experience.
Location: Bristol / Hybrid

Job Description
As an experienced , you will lead and deliver a diverse range of high-profile projects-from small scoping and feasibility studies for site upgrades to complex process designs across Civil Nuclear, Defence Facilities and Energy Storage Systems.
You will manage multidisciplinary engineering interfaces, deliver control and safety system designs, and lead technical project teams to ensure safety-critical standards are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Project & Technical: Lead projects through the full lifecycle-from concept design to commissioning-managing project teams, timelines, and budgets
- Control & Instrumentation: Lead or support the specification, design and assessment of control, instrumentation and safety systems within safety-critical environments
- Innovation & Delivery: Drive innovation projects, transitioning new systems and technologies from early concept through to formal acceptance
- Documentation & Verification: Produce, review, verify and approve technical reports, specifications and detailed engineering design documentation
- Client Engagement: Manage client relationships to define requirements, negotiate technical scope, manage project risks, and deliver progress reporting
Essential Requirements
- MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline(or equivalent experience/qualification)
- Strong practical knowledge of process control systems alongside deep familiarity with EC&I documentation (SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, schematics)
- Experience applying hazard analysis and risk assessment techniques, including HAZOP, LOPA, determination, , FTA and related safety assessment methods
- Demonstrable experience leading safety-critical solutions aligned with standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178, or DO-254
- Experience working under ISO 9001 quality standards, paired with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience delivering work within regulated or safety-critical sectors
- Strong client-facing and report-writing skills
- Experience within the Nuclear sector
- Formal accreditation (e.g. TÜV )
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and software languages (e.g. C/C++)
- Familiarity with change control and defect tracking processes
- SC and / or DV security clearance
