Role summary
Machine Safety Engineer responsible for machine safety work across the safety lifecycle, with emphasis on ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06, ISO 12100, and related standards. The template can be adapted for Senior, Remote roles.
Responsibilities
- Support hazard analysis, risk assessment, safety concept, verification and release evidence for safety-critical systems.
- Coordinate engineering, quality and program stakeholders so safety requirements are traceable through design, implementation and validation.
- Review safety cases, test evidence, supplier inputs and change impacts against the agreed safety lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience applying functional safety methods such as , , , fault tree analysis, safety requirements management or safety case development.
- Ability to translate safety goals and standards into practical engineering deliverables and clear cross-functional decisions.
- Working knowledge of safety-critical hardware, software, controls, embedded systems or industrial automation practices.
Nice to have
- Functional safety credential, assessor experience or prior ownership of audits and independent reviews.
- Experience with tool qualification, cybersecurity interfaces, , machinery safety, autonomous systems or regulated product launches.
